Academic / Musical achievements: A lvls: A for H2 chem, econs and maths. B for H2 phys. O lvls: A1s for A math, E math, physics, bio, combined humans. A2s for English, chemistry. Relevant Experience / Teaching Style: Ever since secondary school, i have been peer coaching students from my level or lower. This has given me great experience in understanding what are the needs of the students. Futhermore, being a student myself, i could easily translate what a teacher taught into simpler terms for my peers to understand. This opportunity made me realise that i have the patience to be a good tutor. In addition, i have 4 students in the past 2 year. There is one particular student who was failing quite badly for both his E and A maths in secondary 3. In under two months(nov and dec) of intensive coaching, i managed to clear his wrong concepts for A maths. It can be considered as a great victory as he managed to score 72marks for his A maths, which was quite a feat considering he only managed a score of 29 in his sec 3 EOY. There is another student who just managed a borderline pass (S) in chemistry for his j1 promotional exam. I managed to help him turn things around in just 6mths and by J2 common test, he managed a B which is very good for a JC common test. Two other students were doing well from the start and continued to improve. However, i would like to add that i derive alot of joy and extreme passion from helping weaker students turn their results around. |
