Academic / Musical achievements: Intra-college Chinese Essay-Writing Competition, Second Runner up Relevant Experience / Teaching Style: I have 4 years of experience as a Part-Time Tutor - teaching mainly English and Mathematics. Many of my students were foreigners who had poor command of the English language but required to improve within a short time for entrance examinations and other school-based assessments. I am able to discern the language abilities and weaknesses of my students within a short time and craft strategies targeting his/her weakest areas i.e. summary, comprehension, composition, vocabulary, in order to help him/her improve quickly enough for examinations. I focus on building one's foundation of the language and have distinctive methods to do so. Many of my students managed to enter local schools within their first attempt or improve vastly over the semester. |
